Due to the rapid modernization process in the past two decades, young people born after 2000 are more willing to chase trends and imagine the future, making our lives more convenient and faster. This phenomenon may be found in many big cities. Places with many young people tend to be busy, energetic, fashionable, and capable.

The same goes for Beijing. Young people prefer to go to the north of the city, where there are many high-rise buildings, high-end office buildings, and shopping malls. Every day, you can see fashionable white-collar workers and trendy young people walking on the streets. Compared with the north of Beijing, the south of the city seems to be much deserted. But is this purity and leisure also a part of life?

This project depicts the life of ordinary people in the alleys in the south of Beijing. They chat in the square, sit around to play chess, knit, and look at the cats on the roof. I hope that while people are fighting for their future, they will occasionally stop for a moment in a quiet and beautiful corner.
